Facil North America, Inc., is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator for our North American Headquarters in Independence, Ohio.

Position Summary:

Our Project Coordinators are responsible for overseeing engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.  Additionally, the Project Coordinator is responsible for utilizing project management tools to coordinate activities, track progress, and collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients.  This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager, North America and works closely with Purchasing, Quality, and Operations.  Compensation includes a competitive benefits package [including paid time off, health insurance, 401(k), etc.] along with the opportunity for continuous professional growth and development. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of a project from the development stage through to implementation, including but not limited to:
    • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders
    • Ensure resource availability and drive cross-functional project teams, ensuring smooth communication among team members, clients, and suppliers
    • Develop a detailed project plan including milestones to track progress
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting
    • Manage changes in project scope and schedule
    • Measure project performance KPI’s using appropriate systems and tools, report and escalate to management and stakeholders as needed
    • Provide regular status reports to clients and internal stakeholders, highlighting milestones, risks, and deliverables
    • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
    • Provide on-site support during implementation phase if required
    • Responsible for meeting the defined project scope and objectives according to the company’s quality standards
    • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulations, and best practices throughout all phases of the project
  • Monitor project budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure that objectives are met within established parameters
  • Support continuous improvement activities in project management standards and methodologies; manage the implementation of these standards and methodologies
  • Provide training and guidance for team members and new project management tool users

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Commercial Engineering, or minimum Bachelor’s degree or equal by experience
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in an Engineering role, preferably with project coordination or project management experience; experience in the automotive industry is a plus
  • Mechanical and/or material knowledge is required; knowledge or experience with fasteners is a plus
  • Knowledge of relevant quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and others where applicable); knowledge of automotive quality standards is a plus (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, G8D)
  • Knowledge of project management principles, documents and plans; knowledge and experience with project management tools and systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships and working successfully in cross-functional teams
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills; able to create and deliver presentations via multiple mediums to individuals as well as varied groups of people.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities; ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex information and apply to practical situations.
  • Proven history of personal initiative, efficiency, attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and performing quality work within deadlines with or without supervision.
  • PC proficiency required, including MS Office. Knowledge of other industry-specific or custom software a plus.
