Facil North America, Inc., is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager for our North American Headquarters in Twinsburg, Ohio.

Position Summary

Our Purchasing Manager provides leadership for our purchasing team (project, operational, and junior buyers). 

In addition, the Purchasing Manager will manage annual cost reductions through supplier negotiation and resourcing and develop and implement a global and local purchasing strategy in correspondence with worldwide colleagues.  This position reports directly to the Managing Director FSP and works closely with Operations, Finance, and other departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage annual cost reductions through supplier negotiation and resourcing
  • Develop and implement a global and local purchasing strategy in correspondence with worldwide colleagues
  • Select and develop the supply base, including new supplier selection and supplier reduction
  • Manage vendor relationships and assist in building sustainable partnerships
  • Negotiate, report, and renew supplier contracts (support from Managing Director and corporate)
  • Coordinate and follow up the raw material agreements with the supply base
  • Look for and create opportunities in the sourcing market (link with the ASD department – gaining business insights to keep competitive advantages)
  • Keep competitive advantages by continuously exploring and benchmarking new processes, technologies, and business models
  • Lead or support cross departmental projects
  • Responsible for target setting both from a technical and commercial point of view
  • Implement and maintain 5S

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics or equal by experience
  • +5 years’ experience in a purchasing environment, preferably in the automotive industry or a fast-paced environment
  • First management experience is required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and analytical thinking skills
  • Organized and able to set priorities

  • Dynamic and persistent
  • Advanced computer literacy, including MS Office
