Position Summary:
Our Quality & Ops Engineering Manager provides leadership for our quality systems and teams. In addition, the Quality & Ops Engineering Manager will understand and represent customer requirements and specifications, assuring processes achieve the highest product quality and business targets. This position reports directly to the Global Quality Process Manager and works closely with Operations, Engineering, and other departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and assure the execution of the Internal Audit Process related to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Systems
- Coordinate the Certification Audits (external) related to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Systems
- Manage the corrective actions generated from Internal and External Audits
- Implement, monitor, and maintain, the execution of the Facil Management System
- Leader, promoter, and coach of the FMS philosophy
- Functional supervision of the Branch Quality coordinators
- Manage and update the Customer Specific Requirements and manage the impact on FACIL organization when changes are made
- Supervise and manage customer complaints and supplier rejections
- Take final decision on product non-conformity in line with the customer requirements and block/release goods accordingly
- Oversee the Incoming Inspection and control of non-conform products
- Follow up and maintain supplier certificates related to Quality and Environmental Systems and ISO/17025 for Calibration Suppliers
- Ensure the laboratory’s compliance to the ISO 17025 standard (US Only)
- Supervise and manage HQ and branch change management activities (PPAP – Samples – Functional Built – International Material data sheet (IMDS))
- Approve Consequent Investigation (CI) and update supplier status in line with the company requirements and supplier performance
- Follow-up of Change Management system for quality-related input
- Supervise and mange branch operational engineering activities (application engineering – problem solving)
- Responsible for the set-up, implementation and management of cost reduction and standardization programs in line with the internal and/or customer expectations
- Coordination of line walks
- Manage Customer Vehicle Program launches with a team of resident/program engineers located at the customer premises
- Achieve customer satisfaction demand in terms of application support, cost reduction, standardization, and other engineering-related customer specific demands
- Support achieving engineer-related company targets
- Manage support by the engineering department to Business development and operational projects (customer and internal) in line with the company requirements and priorities
- Approval of CI for Engineering
- Follow-up of Change Management system for engineering-related input
- Participate in the Drawing Approval Process
- Coordinate the design process for running parts
- Perform other job-related duties assigned by your manager
- Apply and safeguard the Facil values in daily operations
Qualifications:
- Master’s or minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equal experience required
- +5 years’ experience in a quality environment, preferably in the automotive sector
- First management experience is a plus
- Fastener knowledge is a plus
- Experience with internal and external audits is a plus
- Knowledge of relevant quality standards. Act according to the relevant quality standards and the company management systems (ISO 9001, ISO/TS 169, ISO 1400 and others where applicable)
- Knowledge of the main Automotive Quality tools and requirements like: APQP, MSA, SPC, PPAP, FMEA and Control Plan
- Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing knowledge is a plus
- Design FMEA methodology (risks of designing)
- Excellent interpersonal skills; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality.
- Proven history of personal initiative, efficiency, meticulous attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and performing quality work within deadlines with or without supervision
- Advanced computer literacy, including MS Office
