Strategic Business Development Manager


Facil North America, Inc., is seeking an experienced Strategic Business Development Manager for our North American Headquarters in Twinsburg, OH.

Position Summary:

Our Strategic Business Development Manager will execute and lead the sales cycle with business development opportunities.  This position will serve as the main point of contact for the customer throughout the entirety of the sales cycle and will work with the regional team to meet the customer’s needs.  This position reports directly to the Business Development & Product Sales Manager, North America and works closely with other business units.  Compensation includes a competitive benefits package [including paid time off, health insurance, 401(k), etc.] along with the opportunity for continuous professional growth and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop dedicated sales to Product Sales customers and customers with potential to be an FSP.
    • Actively identify new leads and opportunities for NEV, Product Sales, New Parts
    • Defining pricing strategy with new business and current customers
    • Analyzing current customers product portfolio and new programs
    • Set up strategic sales plans in conjunction with Product Sales Manager
    • Act as a central point of contact for these customers from the analysis phase and until closed/won phase
      • Analyze Request for Quotations (RFQ) from the customer
      • Start-up RFQ with Facil supply base (with support from PCC)
      • Prepare and present the offer to the customer
      • Revise and negotiate customer contracts
  • Manage and coordinate all technical, commercial, quality, and logistic aspects with the respective departmental managers from the analysis phase until the closed/won phase
  • Support the W12-130 BD Process from the analysis phase until the closed/won phase
  • Support the regional team to reach regional targets
  • Report the status to the PS Manager
  • Escalate market and organizational needs and opportunities to corporate level and work on continuous improvement projects to adapt to the changing and challenging environment
  • Additional duties as assigned


  • Master’s or minimum bachelor’s degree (engineering, economic, sales, business, etc.) or equal by experience
  • +5 years’ experience in Business Development (strategy) and Operations within a mechanical industry required, preferably in the automotive sector. Knowledge of relevant quality standards and of the automotive processes is a plus.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as experience working successfully in cross-functional teams; able to create and deliver effective presentations via multiple mediums to individuals as well as varied groups of people.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external customers is a must.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites in various geographies; most travel will be within the U.S., but some international travel may be required.
  • PC proficiency required, including MS Office. Knowledge of an ERP package and CRM system (e.g., SalesForce) as well as any other industry-specific software is a plus.
