Facil North America, Inc., is seeking a Transportation Coordinator for our North American Headquarters in Independence, Ohio.

Position Summary:

Our Transportation Coordinator coordinates and orchestrates transport flow between suppliers, carriers and Facil branches. This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager and works closely with branch operations as well as other members of the FSP Operations and Purchasing division.  Compensation includes a competitive benefits package [including paid time off, health insurance, 401(k), etc.] along with the opportunity for continuous professional growth and development. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure products are correctly coded and classified.
  • Review freight paperwork and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Provide USMCA-NAFTA documentation when required by customer.
  • Coordinate and orchestrate transport flows (domestic and internation) between suppliers, carriers, and Facil branches by operating the implemented TMS/control tower
  • Validate announced transport orders to make sure freighted weight is accurate.
  • Proactively search for potential conflicts and source solutions.
  • Proactively search for opportunities (based on a forecast) and source direct trucks, milk runs, … or source LTL spot market rates.
  • Follow up on supplier and carrier performance, report on discrepancies.
  • Match invoicing with effective transports.
  • Assist internal customers with price requests or transport sourcing.
  • Preparation border crossing files US-MEX.
  • Update tracking file data2 and review accurateness, in case of errors, contact Data2.
  • Actively support and serve as a role model for company mission and core values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Management, Engineering or equal experience required.
  • Preferably 1-2 years’ experience in the transportation industry and logistics.
  • Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers.
  • Experience in transport planning is a plus.
  • Knowledge of customs legislation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of transport legislation is a plus.
  • Proven history of personal initiative, efficiency, attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and performing quality work within deadlines with or without supervision.
  • PC proficiency required, including MS Office. Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning package is a plus.
