Position Summary:

Our Material Planners act as the liaison between customers and suppliers and are the first point of contact. The Material Planner is responsible for processing customer demand by placing, scheduling, and managing orders with suppliers. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager and works closely with branch operations as well as other members of the FSP Operations and Purchasing division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process customer demand by placing, scheduling, and managing orders with suppliers.
  • Manage the Material Resource Planning (MRP) preparation and follow up of mailbox errors.
  • Maintain data integrity of the Material Resource Planning (MRP) parameters.
  • Review open orders and expedite material if necessary.
  • Monitor stock levels.
  • Follow up on marketplace list if required for the specific branch.
  • Manage changes and implementations of new parts and change over parts.
  • Optimize packaging.
  • Prepare applicable customs documentation.
  • Report on packaging and manage customer portals when applicable.
  • Actively support and serve as a role model for company mission and core values.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equal experience required.
  • 1 year of experience in similar role.
  • Quantitative and analytical capabilities; ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex information and apply to practical situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality.
  • Proven history of personal initiative, sense of urgency, efficiency, attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and performing quality work within deadlines with or without supervision.
  • PC proficiency required, including MS Office. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning package is a plus.
